Why are Location Services Required for the App?
The iOS system will provide access to stored photos on the device to an app only if Location Services are enabled for the app. The reason behind is that photos may contain location information (e.g., GPS position). However, Location Services are also required even if the app does not read this location information at all but want to simply read several photos or folders (there is one exception, namely the selection of a single photo via the default ImagePicker control). Unfortunately, many users are are irritated by the Location Services request for apps that handle with photos and refrain from enabling it because they believe that the app is doing something unexpected.
